Each group welcomes new members, the only requirements being a commitment to regular rehearsals and service attendance. 

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir provides inspiring musical leadership in the 9 am traditional worship service on Sunday morning with pieces from the Baroque-era through today’s composers accompanied by organ or piano. Worship Band

The West U Methodist Band brings you today’s most exciting Christian music at the Contemporary Service every Sunday and at special concerts during the year. Volunteers (with audition) and professional musicians join the Contemporary Worship Leader at the piano with

Youth Ensemble

Youth Ensemble

The Youth Ensemble assembles several times a year, working around the student’s schedules, to lead in worship. The group prepares both traditional and contemporary music to sing in both services.

 

Children’s Choirs

Children’s choir participants joyfully sing their faith and show what they have learned in Sunday services four times during the school year.  For more information email

Cherub Choir (Preschoolers age 3 by September –Pre-K)

The Cherub Choir members learn to match pitches, keep a steady beat, and have the opportunity to expand their musical intelligence through singing, dancing, and instrument playing. The Cherubs join older choirs to sing at the 4:00 pm Christmas Eve service.

Sonbeam Choir (Kindergarten through 2st grade)

The Sonbeam Choir meets from September through February. The Choir has a three-year rotating curriculum focusing on Old Testament Heroes, Jesus and his Teachings, and the Fruit of the Spirit. All songs, Bible passages, and activities focus on the theme of the year.

Kids of the Kingdom Choir (3nd-5th grades)

The Kids of the Kingdom Choir meets from September through February.  The fall focus is anthems and Choirchime playing for worship presentations. In the spring, the choir prepares and presents a mini-musical.

Handbells

Our groups ring one set of four octave and two sets of two octave Malmark Bells, as well as three octaves of Malmark Choirchimes. In the fall, new members join and the various groups are re-organized. Occasionally new members are able to join during the school year.  For more information email

Wesley Ringers

These adult ringers enhance worship by playing level 2 and 3 hymn arrangements and original compositions.

 

Youth Handbell Ensemble

The Youth Ensemble meets in short-term sessions to prepare music for worship. All 6th-12th grade students should check out this fun handbells group.

Adult Handbell Ensemble

Ringing in worship several times through the year, this group rehearses in short-term sessions. Advanced ensemble skills are needed for playing many bells.
